When the summer months arrive we begin to look around for ways of helping children wisely spend the time they are not in school. The screens always present around the children at home beckon the children away from these activities and seat them for long hours in front of fast-paced, flashing and noisy entertainment.

Recognising a child's individuality is fundamental in our work with children. Each child is seen as a unique person with their own interests, strengths, and pace of development. Montessori educators tailor their approach to meet the individual needs of each child, allowing them to explore and learn in ways that resonate with their natural curiosities and developmental stages.
Montessori education focuses on offering children opportunities to explore the world and make discoveries at their own pace. It fosters independence, critical thinking and a love of learning through carefully prepared environment.
Since its inception a Montessori environment supports the needs of the developing child and allows them to have an active life. In this setting prepared with great consideration to their needs, children are able to grow in freedom within a caring and stable society.
In a Montessori environment following interest is the key for the adult to support the children in their journey towards self-construction. Yet as teachers we see the children in our environments disengage from work.
