Offering multiple Indian languages in a Montessori Environment poses several challenges to the Montessori teacher. We know that the early years are important yet we begin languages other than English too late with a very limited range of activities. It is now increasingly becoming evident that embracing linguistic diversity will promote neurological developments. Cheryl Ferreira will explore ways in which Hindi (which is very different from English) is offered in the Montessori environment. She will present a variety of ways in which Indian languages can become part of the rich fabric of experience for the children in a Montessori school.
