Course Components
The Montessori Orientation to 6-12 Certificate Course introduces the developmental needs and characteristics of elementary-aged children. It explores the core Montessori principles that guide and support children in 6-12 environments. Through interactive lectures, discussions, and observation, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the child’s growing intellect, imagination, and moral sense during this stage. This course is suited to Montessori teachers, parents, and professionals working with this age group, and also serves as a valuable introduction for those considering the AMI 6-12 Diploma Course.
Theory Lectures
The theory offered on the course invites participants to explore Montessori’s understanding of elementary children and their unfolding development. It offers an introduction to the vision of Cosmic Education – an interdisciplinary approach that connects all areas of knowledge through a unifying story of the universe and humanity’s place within it. Participants will also reflect on the vital role of the adult in guiding and supporting children on their journey of discovery and growth.
