Rukmini Ramachandran participated in the Chennai conclave of the Brainfeed Conference celebrating exemplary women in education. She presented a view of Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) as a pioneer in women’s rights and explained the core values of Montessori education and its emphasis on freedom of choice offered to children in a Montessori school. She discussed the wider implications of education in a social context of selflessness as Montessori teachers step back allowing children to explore creative processes without obstacles.
